Liebherr offers a wide range of equipment for various fields of application: earthmoving and transfer machines, mobile, tower and harbor cranes, foundation and concrete mixing equipment.
The line of equipment also includes machines for demolition of buildings. Liebherr’s plant in Colmar, France produces hydraulic crawler excavators from 14 to 100 tonnes, electric tunnel excavators and custom excavators for demolition.
The first projects of specialized Liebherr excavators for dismantling appeared in 1970. They were equipped with an adapted demolition boom and hook (photo on the left). In 1992, the destroyer first appeared in the form we are used to. The R 954 B has been supplemented with specialized work equipment (photo on the right). Also, in the production of R 945 B, advanced solutions were applied: removable boom equipment and counterweight, adjustable undercarriage for easy transportation of the machine, attachment control systems.
Today the Liebherr Demolition demolition machine line includes 5 basic models weighing from 60 to 180 tons with a variety of boom equipment. Among them is the Liebherr R 960 Demolition medium-class demolition excavator, which is the optimal solution for fast and safe demolition of structures in confined spaces. The versatile R 960 Demolition is characterized by the ability to change boom equipment for different types of objects and tasks.
The boom length of the R 960 Demolition ranges from 18 to 37 meters, and the weight of the hydraulic shears ranges from 3 to 5 tons. Separately, it should be emphasized that this boom can be operated with a hydraulic hammer. High manufacturing precision ensures minimal backlash of the working equipment pivot joints. This significantly reduces boom wear even with high vibration loads.
The Liebherr Demolition Control system allows the operator to control any attachment at any point in real time, receiving all the data on the monitor: flow rate and pressure in the hydraulic system, position and tilt of the attachment, as well as the ability and limitation of the attachment. This system simplifies the dismantling of structures and increases the level of safety at the site.
